Default 1.1 water issue

just brought a 1.1 for peanuts just to run about in it had no water cap on it so i put 1 on and topped up with coolant after a run it had blown the bleed valve out so i screwed back in and took the cap off, as soon as i started it, it blew all the water out of the filler cap it will only hold like quater the amount of water it should without blowing it out like a fountain so it wont run with a filler cap on. any ideas ?

Are you using the correct cap? With the correct pressure rating.

Have you tried a new bleed valve?

The cap opens to allow pressure out around 1.4 bar, so that is around 20 PSI. It normally says on the cap on the pressure. I would look at pressure testing the system. If you don't have the tools for this then head to a garage if there is one nearby. I guess by valve you mean the bleed screw right?

yeah bleed screw mate it seems to have made a loud tapping noise since it blew the water out like a fountain ? it gets louder with engine revs might just be a coinsedence but only came on when the water issue did
