is it hard to take the 'grey/once black' trims off? or is it a ball ache?

you can take the side trims off just by pulling but the ones on front/back bumpers are attached to the bumper themselves

Yeah what he said, they are attached by clips. You will possibly end up breaking a clip or to but dw they don't cost much
