Default Rotrex Problem: Alternator getting in the way of Rotrex c30 bracket

i,

I'm just put my GMC Rotrex bracket on my VTS and the alternator wont fit

I bough the kit second hand and believe I have all the part required to fit it.

Is there a second bracket needed for the alternator o am I just putting it together wrong?

Can take pics an b taken if needed and a fast reply would be very much appreciated as the suns going down!

iirc you need to remove part of the alternator bracket and the charger bracket mounts part of the alternator. its been years since i did mine and it was an early style bracket.

best to get some snaps up.

Hi,

Sorry it took so long to get a couple of photos up.

As you can see the alternator fouls on the charger bracket.

I've also noticed there is no tensioner pulley.

Any ideas?

thats easy mate you need to take that oem alt bracket off put a 8v lower one on from a silvertop iirc there should be a flat spacer bracket that you attach to the mount and then to the alt andy k has a pic somehwere as he showed me

not any 8v cast iron block will do.
had trouble with this myself and you need a vtr lower altinator bracket.
not just anyone will fit. the 1.1 brackets and 1.4 brackets are slightly to small for the bolt holes.
8v vtr and ur on the money



thats what your after bottom left of engine

Doesnt look quite right to me? Plus im guessing its from a 1.4 206 instead of an 8v vtr?
