MOT advisories
Had MOT few months ago and got some advisories. Thought I'd wait until weather was bit drier/warmer and see if could do them myself. Any help/suggestions/ideas on following and I'll be grateful.
1) Both nearside and offside lower front suspension have slight play in an outer ball joint (2.5.B.2a + 2b).
Am I better off just replacing both lower arms as a whole as I've heard that the ball joint can be a right arse to do on its own?
2) Steering column top bearing slightly worn (2.1.2c).
A case of removing airbag, taking steering wheel off and replacing bearing whilst trying not to bugger up the wheel alignment and the indicator/washer/wiper stalks positions?!?
3) Also the handbrake lever is slightly loose and so vibrates when engine is idling and handbrake off. This is causing a surprisingly loud noise which I want rid off!
Is it more likely the securing bolts require tightening or do you reckon I'll need to replace the whole lever assembly (with front cable)?
I've done bits on cars over the last few years but none of these. I've got next few days off work and was hoping I might manage to get them done whilst my son's at school. Also, are there any other parts that I would need to pick up?
Cheers for looking and thanks in advance for any help, guys!
