Default Corsa SRi vs. Saxo VTR

Alright guys, Im thinking of gettting rid of my 1.4 SRi corsa and getting a VTR Saxo (Mk2 hopefully). Alot of people keep putting me down and telling me not too, how Corsa's are much better ? had alot of trouble with my corsa ! spent over 1k fixing engine problems !

Just wanna know what people think ? or if anyones owned a corsa and saxo to give me comparasons ?

cheers guys x

2004 Corsa 1.4twinport SRi.

Like any other car, service it regularly and don't drive like a twat.

A lot of people do say their car is better than another car.

completely my own opininon but corsa's are so fucking common these days i think like 70% of my mates have some form of corsa (im 20 btw) and im the only one with a vtr. and to be honest im not fond of cars that are too common might be different where your from though

If you do decide to swap, make sure you spend a fair but of time checking the car over to make sure it has been well maintained and looked after, Hpi check it, check service history etc and only then if it still seems fine then go for it. A badly maintained Saxo is going to cause you as many problems as any Corsa will, but if you can find one which has been treated well, then they should generally be trouble free

So in short, it will be worth it, but only if you can find a well looked after one

is it really worth changing?

I guess the saxo drives better and the corsa has a better interior

I had an Astra SXi, after my old Saxo, and even though its not a Corsa, i have driven one. The Astra was nice to drive and safe, but i found the Ecotec engine slow as fuck, although good on fuel. But the car was so BORING!

The Corsa i drove was a 1.2 16v SXi, and i thought it was just as boring as the Astra to drive and the interior isn't comfortable to be in..

The 1.4 one is also really under-powered and a 1.4 Saxo would outrun it, my old 1.1 used to keep up with my mates one untill 4th gear too! But then you'll find that Vauxhall Ecotec engines are very under-powered compared to evenly sized other cars.

Get a Saxo mate, they run really well and when looked after they are very reliable.

1.4 corsa feels slow compared to a vtr having driven both.

Not really, 1.4 16v SRi is 88bhp. Whats a 1.4 Saxo Furio, 75bhp. Vtr only has 2bhp more, so no, they aren't under-powered.

I would say sell the 1.4, and buy a 1.8 16v SRi.

I really wouldn't go from a C SRi to a Saxo. Thats a downgrade imo.

I've had both and honestly prefer the corsa. Neither are crazy fast cars but my corsa is quicker and comfier, although it lacks the fun factor of the VTR.

Corsa 1800 will be a nicer car to live with.. Newer, built better and faster.

Vtr will be a more involving/exciting drive.

A Saxo is awesome to drive, would easily smoke a Corsa in the corners! Straight line speed is for pussies

Saxo for me. I really really dislike corsas, except for the recent VXR's but I can think of much better things to spend my money on.
