Default vtr engine

went to a few other garages this morning and was enquireing about head skim and pressure testing plus head gasket to be done got qouted £350 twice , the 2nd garage also offered me a vtr engine with 43k for £200 plus £150 to fit it.

then went to another garage and he says to get the headwork done and a new gasket it should cost me around £120.

my cars got 105k on the clock now so do you think it is worth another £120 or am i best going for the new engine choice?

Kenny

id say keep ya own engine you dont know anything about the other engine. if it came out of mr boyracers car then their could be alot of trouble ahead with the engine. talkin from experirnce

thing is mine's has done 105k and the last 9k ive done in it has been probably the hardest 9k of its life....knew i was gonna have to get a new engine , just didnt think it would be this soon. ive got a feeling though the new one wont be as nippy as my old one , as far as i know my old one was standard.

ive told the guy to go ahead and change the engine so hopefully ive not made a mistake, ill keep yous posted.
