Default vts engine start up noise

when i go to start my vts it makes a ticking noise and something struggles to start, the noise is only there when i try over by the key trying to start it, the other morning there it would not start but bump started no problem,

any ideas?

Your starter motor is getting stuck. Mine did it - I used to just keep trying until it free'd.. then One day it totally jammed..

2nd hand one off here for £15

is a starter motor hard to fit? can get new ones off here for not much more i seen

Not hard. Fiddly yes..

It's simply 3 bolts - 2 electrical connectors. At the back of the engine though.

Some people go from above.. others underneath.. Both ways fiddly.

or you put it in gear and rock the car back and forth to free it?

sure that's what I used to do with my metro... stick it in 2nd and rock it.

then try starting it

On ebay they're £30-40 second hand and £60 new lol. I know that noise and its cringe. Mine did it for a couple of days then its gone completely. I nearly shit the bed.

defo sounds like starter motor and its realy easy to change over

yeah man, changed mine week an half ago. was a BITCH to say the least, fiddly isnt the word lol not much room at all, if you change it make sure you disconnect the batt for a couple of hours before
