Cool now I'll write up lol.
Unplug your battery if you have an open come filter cover this in big bags to stop it getting wet.
Don't worry about anything else.
Soak it in water yes water, spray degreaser over everything that you want cleaned, alloy wheel cleaner works well . Scrub a dub dub.
Rinse and leave to dry. Dress plastics with protectant.

And voila.

Tbh, I'm ruthless. I don't cover anything other than the air filter usually.

Range rover got a dose the other day - engine warm, cdegreaser sprayed everywhere, give it 5 mins, boom. Jet wash tastic with the engine running. Sorted

I should add there's covers on everything on a range rover so it's slightly different. Plus it's not French and therefore doesn't have an allergy to water...

If you think about the engine bay gets saturated when you drive in heavy rain, so careful use of the jet wash should be ok! Just don't aim and hold the lance at electrical bits!

Be careful of your alternator as well. Preferably cover it up.

I may let someone else do it or failing that just take out what I want cleaning and have done while out.

Rather interested in how to clean up the various bits too. Rather not take anything out as I'm gash with a spanner and generally just shit.
