Default Rear Axle

Hey.
My rear axle has gone on my saxo vtr mk.2 2002 and I need a new one. I was just wondering whether a new one would have to be off the exact same model and year or is there and other car I could get it off?
Thanks

Seriously?!?! USe the search, it's been covered about 5 bazillion times already!

ANY saxo/106/AX axle will physically fit on the mountings. If you want to keep the same spec you may need to swap bits from the old beam to the new beam. If you don't mind having a drum braked axle then you can do that as well but you will need new handbrake cables and a bit of mucking with the brake lines to get them lined up.

I did search but couldn't find any. Thanks for your help. What would you expect to pay for one of these from a scrappy? I've seen one on Ebay off a saxo vtr 99 plate for £100, is that reasonable?

They do tend to sell for around the £100 mark. You might find a bargain on here on elsewhere though. As always with a second hand axle, you are taking the risk that it could just fail as well.
Could be 2 weeks, could be 2 years, thats the chance you take.
Hope this has helped!
