This is bullshit, every time I have read a news article about him it has called him British whether he wins or loses. But then these are news articles, maybe you're talking about shit "papers" such as the sun which no one should be reading let alone taking seriously.

I dislike Murray either way, seems like a right miserable sod who has absolutely no control over his temper.

Edit: I just looked into it and even in the Sun etc. he is said to be British even when losing.

He's talking about general public opinion of people in England and I think you took it a bit too seriously.

I did take it seriously, because it pisses me off when people say this shit every time he plays a match. If people think this really is the general public opinion then it probably says more about the people they associate themselves with more than anything.

Everyone slates him like he's an arsehole.

They whinge he's moody on court yet also slate henman for being too soft.......

Also as has been mentioned in the written press a few times on tour behind the scenes Murray is one of the most respected players by the support staff who deal with the hotels etc. apparently always polite to them etc.
