Default 307 Engine codes problem... HELP!

Hey all, not a saxo related query but i know loads of you know your stuff, so here goes..

My nan has a 2.0 Petrol 307 with an LPG Conversion.

Its started knocking badly and has been diagnosed as Big end bearings, so basically we're just going to source an engine.

While looking for engines, the ones for sale seem to have a code, such as RFN or similar.

How do i find this?

I've gt right in the engine bay and read the plate on the front of the block and there's nothing like this on it, and its really makin things difficult!

Any avice on this would be great, i'm sed to 106's and saxo's where its easy, or even my 306 HDi where its simply just a DW10 or something easy

Cheers

Default

its an EW10 if is a 2.0 in a 307, more specifically could be an RFN, look at the vin number, the engine code is usually part of it.
