Default Speakers

The previous owner of my saxo installed two speakers into the rear parcel shelf. They sound good but I can't have much volume as the standard speakers in the front crackle. My question is can i add a subwoofer and re wire to stop the standard speakers working or do I need to buy new speakers for the front? I'm on a student budget lol

Instead of buying the woofer replace the fronts...

I understand your desire though the sub will generate perceived volume. Easy enough to pop the front speaker grill off, drill out the speaker rivets and then unplug the speakers. Screw them back in disconnected or leave them out.

Your going to miss them...

Take your fronts off and disconnect them mate, but like Scott said, you will miss them.

Posted on your other thread about this, definitely replace the fronts, dont leave them out, even a student can budget in a decent set of 13cm speakers, will just mean you have to miss one night out, which i'm sure you'll manage
