Default Carrying a surfboard

Getting into surfing and renting a board is becoming expensive and want to get my own board.

Firstly, does anyone have a roofrack for sale?

Also, is there any other way of mounting boards on the roof? Will be at least 2 boards.

Cheers

It's gonna have to be roof bars ain't it haha! I doubt putting a camping mat and some ratchet straps is gonna be good for my car or board.

Cheers gents

Alternatively

A surfboard soft rack
Used one over the summer and can be had for cheap on ebay.

Simple to setup, easy to remove and works on any car with rear windows that open.
(Bought my set off someone who upgraded to a new mini with no rear opening windows)

Only negatives, is the slack left inside the car can be annoying if you don't tuck it away.
Also if you don't twist the fabric on the roof, the wind catches them and makes your car sound like a FUCK OFF bee

The tie had a piece of moveable foam, that you positioned in between where the "fabric" and the paintwork met, to stop any scratches ect.
The tension wouldn't cause any damage, but if it were to rub against the paint at high speed repetitively it might scratch.
No harm adding a bit of foam, It never made a mark on my Saxo all Summer

Sorry for being helpful

You could put a small child in between the board and the roof? and if you put it with the teeth facing upwards, it shouldn't scratch.

Gonna look at the soft roof rack things, look good!

And not too keen on ratchets. Wouldn't the board still move a bit? And what about two boards on top of each other?

Didn't move an inch from leeds to newquay and back. Tbh, I'd go with the soft roof rack for what they cost.
