Hi got a 02 vts and need a new strut what other car has the same Strut vtr not same cos dont have abs

struts are the same, its the driveshafts with ABS rings or not

Driveshafts got abs ring on it and on the hub there a holder for the abs sensor but looked at vtr and there different dont have the holes for abs sensor holder

106 gti or get another one off a vts, theres always a few being broken for parts on here. Once your post count gets up and been a member for a few weeks you can look in the for sale section iirc.

Yeah av seen got part on it but not cash to upgrade just spent £450 getting it throw its mot so far and now am needing a new strut got until wed for a resit and cant find one anywhere near to me checked about 6 car breakers not one has got a vts but will ring tomorrow check if they have any 106 gti

Got told needed a new ball joint got that changed cos that's what it failed on first time toke it back up he then said the hubs fucked and said I will need a hole strut cos the hub dont come off ????

the hub is part of the strut but why is it fucked?
Might be a loose wheel bearing or perhaps the balljoint hole has gone oval?

He never really explained what was wrong part from showing me the ball joint moment and said it will pop out soon

Sounds like the part of it where the taper and pinch bolt goes in has gone oval

So defo need new hub then if that's the problem ? Sorry if a sound stupid dont really have a clue what am doing with the mechanical side of things lol
