Angry need help

just drivin home a few minutes ago
when changin from 4th down to 3rd i heard a kind of grinding noise its stopped for now but when movin the gear stick in neutral i can hear a tappin noise when moved to the right does anyone have any ideas?

is it tapping on tickover,and when you engage the clutch it stops?if so,mines doin the same,been told it could be the clutch release bearing,bearing in the gearbox,and told today could be the spring on the clutch plate,who no's?

no soz doesnt seem like the same thing as me thanks for replyin tho
av been out in the car again an it only seems to make the noise in neutral an its when i have the clutch pressed in an moving the gearstick to the right.
when changing between gears its only heard when im going between 3 an 4 or moving to reverse an its when the stick is in the neutral position.
just some more info any help would be really appreciated, i probably wont be able to get back to you straight away as i have work in an hour but i will try replying as soon as

mine does od noises changin up then from 3rd to 2nd like a gride i can only guess out of aline ? nothin cropped up on mot

Sounds like you have the same issue as me. Get underneath and check this...
When in nuetral and the stick is moved side to side, when it goes right a linkage rod hits the suspension antiroll bar. When changing into 2nd, 4th and even reverse, a linkage rod moves forward and hits the exhaust.
I found this the other day after checking out some very annoying noises. No idea if my cars broken or its a design fault :-( Anyone else had this?

yeah i had some help from the member YM03, he was saying that it could be hitting my heat shield?? but i must admit i havnt heard the noise again for a few days now
