Default VTR idle issue

Hi guys

I've got a 51 plate vtr which last night decided it was going to idle at 4k lol, as soon as you put pressure on the engine to drop the revs (going to pull off with the handbrake right up) it brings the revs down to circa 1.5-2k where it idles between the two

earlier it just idled at around 1200 revs where its normally around 800, It just doesnt seem to know where to idle, sometimes it's smooth, othertimes its not

I think the icv needs cleaning/possibly replacing but just thought id double check with any of you in case it sounds like something else

thanks for any advice

just get a new one, 9 times out of ten its not worth cleaning as it will only piss about again in the near future.

quick fix do whay i done, take the icv out and pull the end out till its fully extracted, meaning it will let less air in at idle, and if it is broken it wont move from that so you will have normal idle
