Rear ABS sensor question
Seen a bunch of them being listed on ebay are they crap fake stuff or are they worth grabbing as seen going at shops for like £30 to £40 for 1 yet on ebay seen some going at £15 each and are exactly the same judging by the pictures.

Just be careful I bought a rear one I think it was only £4.99 it stated that it was for a 2003 VTS when it arrived it was for a drum model & not disc, the seller was not helpful & I ended up having to go via Fleecebay to get my money back.
As an aside I have so far changed 1 front sensor, 1 rear sensor, ABS pump & still the light won't go out, are there any apps out there that will read the ecu for what it thinks is wrong?

Read on some of them as you said their one I seen listed at £4.99 is their but now states as you said Drum only. One I found is like £15 but emailed to ask them if drum or disc.
You need a code reader that will tell you what the problem is and the exct fault is. Luckily tho I have one at my disposal as my friend works at a garage. Some of the cheap ones tho will not read the cods might get lucky but I found with 2 of them didn't read any fault yet got my mates snap-on fault reader read the code n told me the error of what sensor it was. Tried to clear the error but come back due to the sensor being at fault. Having read on ebay seems theirs a lot more makes and different types of readers about so maybe was just me buying the wrong ones in past.
Might be worth a buy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-Ci...YAAOxyzqdTdrDL as it reads OBD2 faults theirs loads of different ones some cheaper and crapper but to have a code read and reset at local garage alone costs £30 upwards depending on that garage. Having a code reader well worth the money if keeping the car and running into little faults as simple pop on read code get part fit part clear code.

This was the one I bought which is Wrong this is the one I bought which was Right in that it fits, but as said I can't confirm it works correctly.
Looked at the reader, I've sent them a question to see if it does ABS, some do some don't TBH I'd pay 5 times that if it was one that can be updated & kept current, but that might not be enough

Well, to be fair, you do get a VTS with drums on the back in LHD models. VTS is a trim, not an engine type. you can get a 1.4 VTS which has drums
I paid £40 for a sensor from eurocarparts. Buying from a factors at least has some guarantee of OEM quality.

That reader will only do engine codes doesn't do ABS

Phaeton you need a lexia to be able to talk to the abs ecu. It should tell you what sensor is dead/if theres any issues. Could be a break in the wires between the ecu multiplug and the sensor plug

Use a multimeter. it's old style sensors so you can measure the resistance at the abs sensor plugs.
Should be 900ohms approx.

Anything from China is fake goods 90% of the time I would bother wasting time any shipping on eaby coming from china I stay well away from as will cost more than anything and end up being fake or fucked and not working.

I know the exact one it is as had reader on it so just going to replace it than to mess around with it and test after.

I've done that on each of the actual sensors & have about that as I remember, but not from the connector itself, is there a diagram anywhere for a 2003 model?

Looks a nice bit of kit, but as soon as I see Snap On I don't need to ask the price it's too expensive

Do you mean like this? Lexia again is this a genuine product or a copy/rip-off would mean I also have to buy a Windoze PC I suppose but it might be worth it

thats the ticket. It all depends on what you need, if you've been replacing sensors that read as dead and the lights still on then a lexia is invaluable. I just probed mine and replaced them as i was 99% sure it was the sensors

IS there power going to the ABS pump?
If the ABS ecu isn't getting power the light will stay on, along with the handbrake warning light. Same goes for ABS ECU failure.
If it's just a sensor, ONLY the orange ABS light stays on.
