Saxo operating temperature
Hi guys do you know if its normal that my saxo diesel hovers around 105 degrees celcius while driving? The overheating light never lit but i think its running abit hot to be honest. Coolant is full and bled, When cold it first goes to 60 degrees then stops for a bit then goes to 80 degrees than stops again and then goes to 95-105 degrees and pretty much stay there, fan starts at 110 degrees, i boight a new fan switch as it was faulty. It has markings in it 97-102 degrees but the fan starts at 110 degrees. What you guys think?

you don't get 60 degrees when cold. Temp sensor or gauge is faulty.

Check that the fan comes on at an ACTUAL 102 degrees and off at an ACTUAL 97 and ignore the gauge.

By the way the gauge is aftermarket, my car has the light only and i installed an adapter in the top radiator hose to read the temperature, maybe the temp in the radiator is lower ?

because it's not displaying the actual temperature. Get a new genuine part for peace of mind, or leave as it is.

Rather than anyone responding with "3/4" etc... What is the actual optimum running temp? in Celsius.. 85-95c?

Your fan switch will have a degree of calibration.
When your fan comes on the switch will be in the range it's rated for.
If it helps, the fan in my last 1.5d (Which I owned for 6 years and over 70,000 miles) NEVER came on. Even when it's hot summer.
My new 1.5d... well I've not had it long but the temp gauge never goes above half. however there's no scale on it.
I wouldn't be worrying about it, the 1.5D suffers badly from oil getting too hot. that'll kill it before hot coolant.
I think your gauge is over-reading a little bit.

there is no engine in the world that runs at 100c or more--unless its a steam engine
mybe suggest new expansion tank cap to start with --
at the temps quoted the top hose would be pumped up hard --if not then tank cap is not holding pressure--which would allow water to boil in head
with 20psi water don,t boil till 130c
