Default Polish on my black bits!!

Each time i polish my car (which i admit i'm not the best at) i always seem to get some on the black plastic parts like the door strips and bumpers. This then turn's white and i cant seem all of it off. Have any of you experienced polishers got any top tip's for getting rid of this anoying prob?

Any help appreciated

Top Tip Number 1: Take care when polishing so you dont get it on the black bits of trim.

Tip Number 2: Buy some 3434 tape, its avaliable on ebay and from polished bliss and its usually blue. Use this to mask off the areas so that you don't get polish on them.

Tip Number 3: Buy some of this http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb145clean.html. After 1 application you will see the faded area start to reduce and look more normal, then with a couple more applications it will return to normal. I find that you really had to work it in to get the stain out, but a little goes a very long way!

Tip Number 4: If you get any on the trim whilst polishing it use the product in tip 3 to remove it straight away and it usually doesnt leave a stain.

i've tried back to black...can't get it even.

My "black" trim has gone a bit faded round the edges after wax etc...I try and be more careful nowadays!

back to black doesnt work it just washes off after a couple of days.

If your bumper had faded and it will not go back to its true colour autoglym sell a trim dye that you can use to get it back to factory quality.

If you can't get an even coat then usually a couple of coats would sort this out.

Meguiar's Hot Shine Tyre Dressing is the one I use:

It lasts for ages on the tyres and the plastics! LOL
IT may sound stupid but its been tried and tests and does work. It also clears any white smear marks on the plastics.

The pic says it all really above.

Back to black has worked for me so far, though I'm not sure if it will wash off, if so then I will have to try some new products.
