2002 Saxo, Knocking noise
So i finally got my saxo, but i have one problem with it and am woundering if its common .. and how to sort it out.. as i say in the title its a 2002 model.its in mint condtition & the engine is running fine but there is a strange knocking noise that i get when i go down a slightly bumpy road. its coming from the front Right hand side.. on a newly tarmaced road the car runs witout a sound, no od noises... Any one have any ideas what it could be ? its a 1.1 Furio if that helps lol .. ive had look myself in that area to see ifi noticed anything loose or touching against eeach other.. but i couldnt see any thing..

Hmm i thought all of them had them. I wouldn't think it would be driveshaft though as it would be more of a constant knocking. I think

You must have drop links, you need them for stability. Sounds like they are to blame too.
Check the link below my signature & you can compare your symtoms to mine, iv yet to replace my droplinks (never have the time) Hopefully ill manage it some day soon though and see if it cures my knocking!

when it comes to knocking noises you cant say what it is till u hav a pro look at it. had noises myself and had things like ball joint, suspen arms, driveshaft, cv joint, bearings etc etc...
Just get it checked out pal.

I didn't think the 1.1 had drop links. I've got the same sort of noise mate only mines coming fromt the other side. It could be a number of things really. Driveshafts, ball joint, CV Joint, suspension top bushes etc....the list goes on.
Let us know how you get on!

Ok so i had a look over it today with a mate, we got it up on the lift and could not see anything that could be knocking, the 1.1 does not have the Drop links, and we checked the too see that all the blts wer tight enough, and the wer. ( including the one under the drivers side carpet). I dont believe its the drive shaft of it would be a constant knocking, mine only happends when i drive over a bump. any one else got any ideas?

My girlfriends VTR does this but when turning not on bumps. Think hers is the top strut bearing.
