Default Insurance for Modified Cars

Ill make this short and sweet:

Basically does anyone know of some good insurance companies which cater for or specialise in modified cars, i know of Adrian Flux, but are there any others??

Its got to the stage for me now where:
a) Direct Line arent happy insuring me with the level of mods that i have
b) Because of this level im not happy to have the car returned to standard like most insurance companies do in the event of a crash.

It sucks that companies expect you to declare everything and yet they wont put the work back how it was.

I know that'll cost a little more, but i want to be safe in the knowledge that if anything does happen then i wont get rogered.

i'm with admiral...they don't seem to mind too much so long as you declare it. my wheels added a bit to the costs but beats having them nicked and getting standard wheels as replacement

yep, page 24 section 11.

Admiral dont pay for anything other than standard car parts.

Right now im having to change from Admiral because they want to charge more for me declaring mods, but wont cover them if claimed.

Direct line are complete *********!!!

they wouldnt insure me on my saxo on my own so i said okay do it in dads name and i will be named driver, they even said no to that.

also i am looking at new cars and they wouldnt insure me on a 1.4 because it would be a brand new car!

I would never recomend them at all.

Willsy, try these guys, you tell them what you want and they search for companys that do what you want and pass you through and when you finish the convo with one company you go back to them and they pass you through to the next one on the list.

They are called DRIVE INSURANCE,
web site: www.driveinsurance.co.uk
Phone: 0800 093 0803

They put me through to some good ones!!

Hope that helps!

Zoe

Thanks Zoe ill give that a look later on Rep added

I had a look at one last night and theyve quoted me £800 fully comp, all declared and mods paid for in event of an accident which is what i want

currently i have £450 all declared TPFF (risky i know but couldnt afford fully comp last year) and car only returned to standard in an accident

Well worth paying the extra for Fully comp alone but i think thats a really good price given that mods are paid for too
