Default Which speakers for my iPod??

I've decided I want to buy a speaker system to plug my iPod in to at home... I've only got a budget of up to £70, but I want it to look good, sound good and possibly have some bass to it...... So far I am liking this and I've found it £52 delivered: -

JBL Creature II (made by Harman Kardon... the ones who make the stereos in BMW's).

Have you lot got any better suggestions for the budget??

Cheers!

Chris

If you have a decent sound system at home id say your better having it hooked up to them. Theres loadsa ways to do it!

Do you definatly want a separate system for it?

EDIT: P.S. I saw human traffic the other night and you avatar doesnt annoy me anymore, it acctually makes me laugh lol!

Well I have got a Technics Midi system in my livingroom, but not sure it can be connected to that.... plus when we have friends round for BBQ's in the summer, the livingroom is at the front of the house, so the music would have to be super loud in order to here it out in the back garden.

I had a look at the Creature II in the Apple Store over the weekend and it seemed really good for the price you pay!

LOL.... tis a great film and he cracks me up!

Any 2.1 system for a pc will work too. Thats generally what i use if i need to go somwhere obscure with my ipod (like on holiday or something) We have sockets in the garden if i wanted to plug it in too, but the living room opens right out into the garden anyway so i can just use that system.

www.ebuyer.com have VERY reasonble prices. Every tv in my house at least has a 2.1 system plugged into it, you get a surprising amount of bass & good soung quality from a £30 set of speakers!

You can get some pretty nice looking speakers for PC's these days too!

Hmm just had a peak on ebuyer and found those ones there. They acctually look pretty good! They have a good review on ebuyer too.

Ken Matheson
Bought these in white for my daughter (early teens). She loves the design and the small size of the satellite speakers. I like the presentation of the sound, small speakers tend to be tinny but these are fairly sweet. The sub-woofer is surprisingly compact too.

Sounds great, good at reasonably high volumes without distortion, but...

On some sites the system is lit up in blue, mine came with green LEDs not blue and only the Satellites light up. But dont put them near/above eye level or expect to be blinded by green LEDs.

Volume feature on a Satellite is very nice to use. Overall great but i bought them to go with my cae which lights up blue so a bit disapointed with the green LEDs.

I've had a pair of these for 6 months now and have found them to be great for use with my PC. I listen to a lot of music and streamed radio and have not found the obvious audio short comings to be a problem. You are clearly paying something for the appearance of these speakers so it's no surprise that compared to my Mission speakers they are almost totally lacking in mid-range. What is surprising is how litle this bothers you when listening to them on your PC. The satellites are great and easy to position, the volume control is handy (essential when used stand-alone with my iPod) and the (green!) light is a handy reminder that you have forgotten to switch them off after shutting your PC down :-) So, the only complaint is that with a sub-woofer that looks as good as this one, you feel compelled to make space for it on your desktop.

Bit of a data dump but theres the reviews for it, seems to be some issue with coloured LED's, i think thwe system is acctually white?

Cheers for that mate!!!

The system actually comes in a few different coulours: -

White (Shiny Appliance type to match a white iPod)
Black ( " " " " black " )
Silver (looks like brushed Aluminium)
Red (which is the colour I would probably go for to match the decor in my diningroom)

I've also read a few reviews on it and they all seem to be pretty positive about it!!

Well as I said I would probably go with the red one if I was to get the JBL Creature so that it would go with the decor of my diningroom.
