Default Rattley sort of noise

Comming from the engine of my 2003 MK2 VTR,

Its a very metalic rattle cant rely tell were its comming from, happens between 2000 - 3000 rpm, when you rev it in neutral it does it, but it does it a little bit worse on rundown when comming upto the lights ect.

Could it be something to do with the timing belt ie tensioners rollers ect??

could be the tappets mate, the noise is probably coming from under the rocker cover OR it could be the alternator/pulley bearings

I had a really bad metal rattle noise also made a grinding noise. Was the bottom pulley.

Hope this helps.
