Second of all. Theres alot to go wrong with them etc.
and for the sake of a turbo and all the higher running costs etc that come with it, just get a vts

They rust quite bad and the 1.6 cvh engine is total shite apparently, my bro had one for about a week and got rid as the handling, brakes and everything was crap..
I'd still have one though, love em to bits!!

cvh engine shite???????
They are pretty good cars matey, not as tunable than the escort version but go really well as they don't weigh much.
As mentioned, try to find one with minimal rust. Rip the carpets up, try and get under the car to look at the sills/arches etc. Check the sunroof (can't remember if they had one but the escort is prone there), check behind the lights and on the boot If its sound buy it, you can get rust prevention treatments aswell.
Fiesta turbo is a wicked website, they have a really good forum which everyone is verrrrry helpful on. Some nice cars on there aswell
I'd say deffers get one though

Yeah they are shite, they weren't changed at all to handle a turbo and cant take much tuning and stay reliable, its a 15 yr old or so engine design now, was shit in its day and is shit now..
i'm not arguing, but if you think they are good then thats your opinion..

And also the opinion of all the people that bought them?? As you said, they are 15 year old cars with turbo's on that are still flying about everywhere. Would like to see 15 year old saxo's with turbo's just bolted on as you put it still going.

i'm just going by what i have experienced when my bro had one, they are fast but thats about the only good point.
The only reason they are going is because people who own them pour money into them, if you ever sat down and thought, my saxo is unreliable, dont get a fiesta rs turbo..

Dated Extremely dated, have you actually been in a vts not sure why you would want one of these over a vts i know its a nice to have a change every now and then but really mate i had a vtr previously and the vts knocks the socks of it and my vtr was pretty well tuned upto 120bhp, everything about the vts just felt better maybe have a go of a vts first if you havnt already

Not all that great on the handling either...
Personally I'd test drive one before making any decision on purchasing. Everywhere a saxo is good the fiesta is not.
Don't buy just because it has a turbo
There are good Fords.. just, thats not one of them

good cars but like others have said really got watch out for rotten examples..
i used to really like them and was seriously considering getting one but the fact that there was so much to go wrong kind of put me of..., eyes down for classic rust around the filler cap.
Bad points-
--Rust
--handling
--not that quick
--mk3 fiesta = builder car
--Running costs
Good points
--Whooom tssh!
--old skool cool
--u can scare kids with the dump valve noise
--everyone from kids to your dad knows what they are and can remember when they either went in one or wanted one
completely up to you dude, i really really like them
but i'd never buy one......

DONT WANT ANOTHER SAXO.
been in a vts. did absolutly nothing for me.
i know the bad points. but i still really like them. theres always a better car out there than the one you own at the end of the day. but everyone on here still bought a saxo over something even though that something could of had something better.
i will be test driving one. and doing alot of research into it before i go ahead and spalsh the cash.
