Saxo Center Console LED guide (56K NO NO)
right after doing all the other dials and buttons in my car i decided to tackle the center console dials, here is a pic of how they are before i started, dull green mmmm...nasty
i removed the console dials and i found that the dials had geen filters on them, i tried to remove the filters but its part of the plastic and when u try to remove them it ruins the rest of the dials, i tried removeing them chemically and other various methods including light sand paper but none worked
so now i was abit stuck but any one that knows me knows i wont let that stop me from getting what i want and i love a good chalange so i set about getting around the problem.
..... after about 5 mins of thinking i came up with the only way i can see them getting sorted would be to make some console dials so i got to work on my laptop making up a high resolution (shown zoomed out in this pic)
got one printed as a test to see if it fits, and it did perfectly
so now it was time to make them the real deal i went into work at 11pm when no one was about and used the lazer printer
i printed 3 different peices, 1) white paper, 2) transparent paper clear dials, 3) transparent paper coloured dials
1) white paper
2) transparent paper clear dials
3) transparent paper coloured dials
i then cut one of each out
they are then glued together while u hold it up to a light to alighn them up, first is the coloured one, then the papaer one then the clear one.
and here is the finished product, looks like it was made from factory
i ran out of LEDs but i had one blue and one red left so here is how it looks:
its a lovely smooth finish as the stuff is printed on the back as a reverse image so u have the smooth clear plastic at the front and this also stops it getting damaged when cleaning etc...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
here are the image files that you can use to do your own as i no longer sell them as i dont have access to the medical lazer printer at work, you may be able to make some using special over head projector clear printer film and a normal lazer printer.

You could make a fair bit of money if you copied MK1 dials onto the plastic mate, all the people with MK1 saxos that couldnt do the blue LED dials mod would be able to. Could make you a few quid

Mate are you just replacing the dials without the green filtesr, so theres no actual need to change bulbs/led's at all?
And once again, an amazing Guide.
Over to for sale section.
