Default ABS Brakes!

Hi people, i have a late 2000 Phase 2 VTR, jus wondering i have noticed a few things about my brakes. Obvs it has discs all round and ABS, but when i brake hard testing them, you can feel the back end trying to come out and it sometimes skids even in dry conditions. I thought that when the ABS kicks in you hear the classic noiseit gives off, but nothing like this at all.
To be honest the brakes on my old sxi corsa where better lol and that was a 1.2!!
Anyone any ideas.............???

Thanks

how do you know it has abs, it only came as an option on vtrs not as standard.

Also if it does haev abs is the light lit on the dash indicating a fault hence why its not working?

Doubt you will have ABS, saxo brakes are pretty shat, and the back end will want to swing round under heavy braking specialy if your saxo is lowered.
