would probably be under a grand, but why not if you can afford it, get the VTR or VTS engine, even the vtr is a large step up from the 1.4 and muhc better tuning potential

aye because the amount of money you would spend on a 1.4 transplant you should get a vtr or even a vts becuse the power difference is not alot of a big difference from a 1.1 to 1.4

u wud be able to if u can source the VT* bodykit from say a scrappy or wherever then put ur bodykit on that...
i think
also i have a 1.4 and i shudda got a VTR coz the difference from a 1.1 is fairly noticeable but has f.a tuning worthwhile doing really....

you can get a boot release kit, where a solenoid when turned on pulls the release and pops open the boot or you can do it the cheap way and just have a bit of wire sticking out into the boot that you pull from inside to open the boot

I think u should probs get a better one, halfords is ok if u just want cleanin kits and a few things for interiors, but i think ud b better off gettin a more expensive kit thats a safer option

Um...
No, not right now, no, i no i saw somethin in some older Max mags, but i dont have them with me now, sorry...
Check out all the regulars like Carnoisseurs, Demon Tweeks, etc... If u still cant find it, ask ur local bodyshop about the smoothin, and maybe a car electrics company about the solenoids

I think that the mechanism used to open the boot via the solenoid is about £40 and can b hooked up to a free button on ur alarms keyfob

nothing much would make your 1.1 more powerful just go down the vtr transplant route

go to your local salvage yard.
i wanted to get a new engine i found a vtr one for £600 and that included engine gearbox and the ecu.
but then you need to pay to get it fitted and that can cost loads unless you have a mate that can do it for you.
have you thought of twin webber carbs you can get them for round £250 and if set up right can give you up to 50bhp more.
or if you have the cash supercharge it.
i found one for £750.

Sorry to be a c*nt mate, but if I were you I'd sell the 1.1 and buy a VTR. By the time you source an engine, fit it, uprate your brakes, find your bodykit - paint that etc etc etc, you'll find that you could sell your car and put the extra cash towards a VTR/VTS, maybe even have some left over! Seriously mate, sell the 1.1 and buy one of the above... you'll save yourself time, heartache and probably money.

Just my tuppence worth!

Oh and by the way, please don't supercharge your 1.1 - it will blow up. I know a few people with supercharged golf VR6's, and even they have problems... so 1.1 + supercharger = bang!
