Default Help!!!

Took car in to F1 on friday for a new clutch. Oil was leaking and it was slipping but clutch was mashed anyways. 325 quid for new clutch fitted, new oil seals. Drove home followed my mum so didn't get the car above 2krpm.

Wasnt till I went to take the car out that night I got half way down my road coulden't get above 2.5krpm without the clutch slipping, far worse than before.

So took it straight back down F1 on sat. They wouldent do anything about it had a que of cars with stuff needed to be done to them.

They ring up today saying it's another oil leak!!! Aparently the main gear box shaft is damged so oil is leaking through that? So on top of the 325 I've already paid I have to pay out to get my gearbox rebuilt or get a new (second hand) gear box. Cars got to get me to the sax-p germany weekender in 11 days i'm now panicing so bad I don't really know what to do!!!!!!!!!

What's the best thing to do, look for a second hand gear box? Get this one rebuilt? I guess i'm lookin at like 400 quid+, whatever I do???

Any help or advice apriciated!!!!!

Bummer! Surely though shouldnt have the monkeys at F1 have seen the oil leak when they removed the old clutch?

Same you didnt use a private garage mate, I always feel I can never trust them places as far as I can throw them.

Put a post out in the wanted section and try and pick up a copy off Auto-Trader and Loot tonight and start phoning around

Went down F1 a bit ago. Williamsvts you are right.

Went into F1 friday said 'replace clutch, find out what oil leak is and fix that then everything be fine'

They put new clutch on, then changed oil seal. Thought loverly it's all sorted. Anyways today hes telling me its not even the oil seals, so he's charged me and extra god knows how much to do that. It's the centre baring on the gearbox is actually wiggeling around like a nutter. So now the bloke at F1 says i've got the have a new clutch! Well I thought surly it's his fault for not fixing my car like I said to, so it's not my fault it needs a new clutch.

Anyways, took the gearbox away left the saxo on the ramp at F1. Took the gearbox down canvey and some bloke is fixing the centre baring on the box and getting that ready to be shoved straight back into the car at F1. That's costing me 120 notes.

Then got to take the gearbox back to F1 for those plebs to fit a new clutch, and stick my fixed gearbox back in.

Then the bloke at F1 when I took the gearbox away had the cheak to say "quick as you can tho mate your car is taking up one of my ramps". What a bell end!!!

So far at a rough guess i'm saying this is costing a minimum of, 600 notes. For Labour, 2 clutches, new oil seals, gearbox fix, put get me back on road again. Minimum 600 notes.

Had the car 6 months already spent a grand on fixing it, not including this 600 quid. I can see 600 becoming 800 quite easily though. Making it a total of about 1600 - 1800 quid in 6 months. Might have to sell soon me thinks!

Welcome to the joys of owning a semi-performance French S**T box

I dont know where they learn how to fix things them people they must all go to the same school of Non-training for a day then told to fix peoples cars

Glade your on the way to having it fixed tho, where abouts on Canvey did you find somebody to sort your box out?
