ok before i get started let me please tell you i have no idea about cars except how to drive one and how to fill up my petrol! when im turning a corner either left or right theres a rather loud clonking noise....any ideas what this could be?

steering column perhaps... is it while the steering wheel is turning or once you have stopped? plus its in the wrong section sweets.
