Engine wont start
I have just rebuilt my engine using high comp pistons, piper bp300 cams, throttle bodies, GMC 420cc injectors, kms with wideband etc. But it wont start,
Whan i turn it over it spits flames through my trumpets (from tbs), just keeps turning over and over and over. Tried it with jump leads from another car so battery isnt flat, havent got a clue what it could be!!
Any ideas???

does sound like your timings out mate, have you set the timing correct for your new cams, e.g. if you have used standard timing marks then its probably wrong, need to make sure its corrrect, also what startup map do you have.

should have came with the cams, you should also have a cam disc or use a dial gauge to dial in the cams, but if you have set it to standard markings and its a 300 degree cam then you better hope you havnt bent any valves, whoever supplied the cam should be able to supply you with the timing setup e.g. 14degress before TDC etc.

get on top dead centre firing on number one cylinder and check the base markings on the cams and set pullys to "0" play with the setting when you get it running also check you crank sensor is picking up a good trigger

it hasnt bent any valves as i turned it over with a socket before i did it with the key & it turned over fine then. Will have a look on the piper website, i have a timing disc actually come to think of it.
