Cleaning forum isnt really 'my scene' however need a bit of help. Soon(ish) ill shall be getting my hands on the new car. however it is in a bit of a bad way.

Once its in my hands im looking to give it a complete deep clean. i understand (due to previous owner) it has been washed 4 times in the last year

Its usually parked under a tree so it had literally been caked in a combination of pollen and bird shit etc. alot of the bird shit can come off but there is one or two stains that seem a bit more stubborn and have left marks.

Im looking for best sort of products to get the best finish for black paint work, remove the old bird turd stains and also remove the flys that have been concreted to the front grill and some decent chrome/metal polish too.

Wanna buy a few products and dont mind spending a little bit of dollar if its worth it.

Rep for help is standard procedure. Muchos Gracias...

Got any pictures?

What colour is it?

Id get Insect Remover, Tar remover, Bumper Black, glass cleaner & Bodywork Shampoo to tidy it up. Take your time and dont get any on bits that its not meant for. Wash it using two buckets, one with soap to wash and one without to rinse the wash mitt to avoid gritting the car.

Then you would probably want to see if anyone local to you has a machine polisher, if not then hard graft is required.

Get a clay kit after cleaning the whole car and clay all the body panels. This will get rid of all the crap built up over the years.

Use autoglym Paint Renovator to get the bad marks out, like shit etc just dont use it on all the car as its fairly abraisive.

Then polish it with Super Resin Polish for lighter colours (autoglym) or ultra deep shine if its a dark colour!

Then stand back and admire! This should give it moderate protection & get rid of all the built up rubbish.

If you want to do a fairly deep clean to get it looking good again i would recommend:

Wash it over with megs shampoo and washmit...
Apply autoglym intensive tar remover over whole car... wash off....
Megs claybar and detail the car... this will remove any stuck insects or surface contaminents...
The wash whole car again with megs shampoo and washmit...
Rinse off... and dry with absorbant cotton terry towel...
Once dry use a polish - would recommend autoglym super resin polish as it removes minor swirl marks and gives a high gloss finish with minimal buffing... apply with an applicator pad and then buff off gently with a terry towel...
Then apply a wax... i use megs wax.. but i have just bought some zymol stuff to try... although i have only heard good things about blackfire products on black paint cars.... so you could try that

Then its just using wheel sealant.. bumper and trim restorer.. glass cleaner etc..

But that is a reasonably cheap way of restoring you car's paint without the need of a PC...

Hope that helps!
Alex

Cheers Ste...

Car as it is, is black. doesnt have matt black bumpers, its completely colour coded.

The paint on it at the moment is only about a year old, does this affect things?

Can try and get some pics, one of the worst bird turd areas has left a faded gray stain. Im willing to give it the hard graft it needs tbh. Needs a complete once over inside and out. So might aswell recommend some decent interior cleaner too..

Cheers...

My interior is fairly clean so never had to use any products really.

just vac, spray with halfords interior cleaner (dont use it smells crap) and a scrub with a hard bristle brush.... works great on the seats & carpet.

And just use a duster & some bumper black stuff on the trim.
