Newman cams FITTED :)
OK today i fitted my newman camshafts. They are PH2(Phase 3 inlet, Phase 1 exhaust). Standard timings for now i will test some advance or retard tomorrow to see how it will be. The car lost alot of low-down power and is better in the higher revs. The idle is perfect almost like before. The car is still not remaped so i hope see more power in low-down revs and more in the higher. Tomorrow will fit straight pipe 55mm with just one silencer. I think the compression ratio must be rised for better torque and some more ponies Thats it for now.

Is there some guide for cam timings? I want to retard the cams a little bit for better low-down.

I wouldn't even bother until you get the car on the rollers. Then the mapping and cam timing adjustment can begin...

I have to adjust the timing to make more comfortable power band and then mapping. I don't want maximum peak power. I want better power curve.

Firstly, they should have come with settings. Did they? Secondly, you won't know what's going on with the power until you get it mapped. The mapping will consist of tweeking the timing anyway.

the guidde for cam timing is on the newmans site. where it says the amount of lift at tdc, you will need to use dial gauges to set the amount of valve lift at tdc.

Yes, you need to advance / retard them as per the newmans website.

I don't have timing disc so if it's possible to give some orientation how much to rotate the verniers and in what direction.

contact newmans for a disc or buy one, standard marks will work but low on power, and also without a remap its pointless as fueling will be all over the place and wont be good in the longrun. Changing something as radical as cams has a large impact on the car so needs setting up correctly immediatly.

use a DTI on top of the lifters to set the correct amount of lift.

What is DTI? The car have alot of increase of performance in 1st and 2nd gear absolute no traction the car goes like mad in first gears. I hope to see good increase after the remap.
