Default Written off VTRmk2 what to take for sale/mk1

Hi, this is my first post!

I've come to ask a question for you wise saxo-gurus but I'm sure i'll stick around.

I had a 2002 Mk2 Saxo with 51,000 on the clock and sadly managed to spin it off the motorway into a roadsign. Sign hit in the drivers door and its bent the floor/roof/frame and caved the door in pretty badly.

Insurance wrote it off and I've put a deposit down on a '98 mk1 with 22,000 on the clock.

I'm going to ring the garrage that is holding the messed up old one tomorrow and ask if I can salvage/buy any bits from it (any advice on if they'll agree or where I stand here is very welcome).

Problem is I have no idea whats worth taking or not.

Basicly I want things from the mk2 that were better than the mk1 so I can put them in my new mk1 when I get my mits on it, and things from the mk2 that are worth taking and selling.

Any suggestions or advise would be very welcome

Yeah new ones a VTR to, I really liked the car so glad to get another :>

I think the gearknob on the mk2 was smarter so I might try and pinch that, only think I can think of though.

Cheers for the input

Personally I would take the side skirts, wheels, interior (if it is better) head unit, and anything else that takes your fancy, sunroof seal if it is in good nick as these are £50 to buy new and a common thing to go early on a sax.

Depends how much space you have to store things.
If you have loads of room, id strip it all, then sell bits you dont want, and keep the stuff you do.
Shouldnt be that expensive to buy it back.
