Painting Calipers
alright guys,
what sort of paint do you use to spray calipers?

imo spraying them takes far too long in terms of preparation, i just painted them with hammerite and they have come out abosutely fine.

As said, use some heat resistant hammerite. Use a wire brush on the callipers to prep them and get rid of the crap, then use a fine paintbrush

can you paint them on the car or do you need too take them off ?

Be better to take them off, that's what i did as i was changing to 266mm brakes anyway, but now they need touching up im just going to do them on the car. Less hassle that way.

Yeaaah im taking mine off to spray them as my brothers giving me some VTS brakes so they will all ready be off so it seems sensible to do them when he changes them. How many coats do you need to do to get a decent finish?

i used heat resistant hammerite, but i left them on just took my time and used some masking tape

Drill & wire wheel to clean them
Then paint with hammerite

leave on car, good clean with wire brush and some thinners/cleaners, and just use hammerite with a brush, i've never used high temp but its never been a problem with just standard hammerite

i applied 1 light coat then let dry for about half an hour then applied second coat leave overnight to dry job done
