Thoughts on red carpet?
Soon to go though with a purchase of some red rallye carpet. Just wanted some opinions on what people think of it? I haven't got any pictures but the last thing I want is for my car to look like a chav owns it.
I have bought red seatbelts and hope to have 106 leathers in with the red carpet to? Opinions?

Red looks good in black, reminds me of a 205 GTI. I wouldn't bother with your colour although some like blue carpets in Icelandic.

Just did a quick google and I say if you have a red car then go for it! I was tempted to put a blue one in mine but it would be a nightmare to keep clean haha
Would look REALLY nice with leather seats, make sure you either get matching doorcards or plain black ones!

I personally think the blue carpet looks really tacky. But I was thinking red carpet, red seatbelts along with the black 106 leathers then it would all mix quite well? I clean my car every week anyway so i'm not worried about keeping it clean lol

The red seat belts only work with GTI leathers in my opinion, so i'm on the look out for some airbagged ones at the moment, not having any luck at all though!
I think I will purchase the red carpet, besides, they are getting rare so I can always sell it on if it doesn't work out, doesn't exactly take long to whip the carpet out

Finding good leathers is a bastard as well. Because good are rare you'll pay over the odds.

Yeah I have found that the last 2 weeks I have just seen something pretty good on ebay, not sure if they would suit the colour of my car though - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=221318985534
Bar the fact they have 'vts' stitched in the headrests

red seats and gti interior look good in that black car
cant say the red carpet will suit a silver car much, but you seem quite happy about it

Haha, I don't know, it's one of those situations were I really can't decide until it's in the car. Do you think it would look bad? Or just ok?
Btw.. I adore your car

I personally wouldnt do it because silver, red and black are too many colours, but dont just go on my opinion. You might think it looks really good.

I think people should stop putting red carpets in non Rallye's because there's a lack of decent carpets and I need one!

Quite, but obviously most will still be in Rallye's. I've got one but it's not quite up to my level of neatness and as I've got a Satchshift I don't have the carpet in because I don't want to cut it.

if you get hold of a dirty carpet, i recommend renting a rugdoctor for a day for like £20. I used it on my black carpet and it brought it up really good!

It won't, i'm more of a detailer than anything. I clean my car everyweek, the engine bay, inside, out and under, the lot.
