Default Mattymcn's VTR * its Matte Black*

Hey guys i have decided to start a thread tonight as im picking up the "ratmobile" from saxo180 in the morning, very early in the morning.

my plans for tomorrow when i get the vtr home.

A well deserved interior/exterior clean inc 2 bucket method. clay bar, machine polish and wax.

add my ss centre section and backbox

Then will tackle the good old ratted rusty bonnet.

Swap over the black mirror caps for a set of white mirror caps to go with the white vtr wheels.

unfortunately the previous owner to saxo180 had his car keyed. poor car
so will have a look into sorting a slot into the local bodyshop for delocking and respraying,

and remove the ripspeed headunit for my LG headunit which isnt any better but its not ripspeed,

Future plans as follows

slam it within an inch of its life
full respray possibly satin black/matte black inc bodywork/delock and smooth afew bits
pressed plates
uprate comps.
new headunit
coilies.
security (steering lock for workdays+ alarm)
raceland panel filter. and give the engine bay a good clean/sort out

Heres how she stands at the moment. in my eyes a perfect canvas.

If i had the money would have loved to snap that up for that price. Personally i keep it rat & just leave the bodywork scratched etc. Just spend the money on the suspension & wheels, then use & abuse it!

well guys i woke up nice and early. i arrived at wakefield at 7:40 to be meeted and greeted by craig (saxo180) drove back to craigs to try and sort out the tax.

what a pain!! got refused tax online and at a post office. went back to craigs to scratch our heads and print off a copy of my freshly changed insurance policy. anyways got the tax. went back and went for a test drive. god i loved driving a vtr compared to my 1.1.
drove off his drive to here a mighty scrape. craig got out and had a look under the car and said the lower strut brace scraped..... extra bonus as i never knew it had one fitted.

craig has been an amazing guy, been so helpful and welcoming into his house

After 3/4 hours messing around with bits and bobs i got on the road. drove 30-40 miles away and needed to stop for food and a break.
i came back and i had the most biggest grin over my face to see that beautiful rusty bonnet. so i had to snap a photo

got home and was way to tired to do anything. anyways got a photo of it on my drive

i have made the decision to go rat/ abit of personal twist which has got to be done.

tomorrow respraying the bonnet satin black, but when fcs comes around rusty bonnet

+++++ already ticked something off my list. it has a raceland panel filter. +++++

more photo's and updates tomorrow

nice car, especailly for the money as i said. One of the reasons i wanted it aswell was due to the fact of craig owning it for awhile, pretty much gauranteed he wasnt going to own a dud.
