Best solution for this?
I bought the car with this scratch on, what would you recommend to make it look better? Touch up paint? Or mask it up and spray it? Or should I just find a new boot lid thing?

i once saw a mark similar to that... from a wood saw apparantly touch up paint worked for that guy, but your lucky its where it is, take that bit off (not sure what its called_ then sand, primer, spray and laquer it, theres always the problem of getting it to match, but you could think about going with a colour scheme ...

Yeah I would agree with damask take it off and think about a colour scheme if you struggle to get a paint match my mate had a similar scratch on his astra and the touch up paint stands out from a mile away.

if you get the ones that look like nail varnish or pens, yes, but really it looks a bit deep, and itll leave a scar, you want to either fill it, or sand the whole thing down.
paint code is in the door for later ones yeah, third number up i think

I think the touch up paint will be the best imo I aint a brilliant sprayer tbh, have sprayed bumpers and stuff for my 1.1 but this is a new car to me so I dont wanna be ruining it with rubbish spray jobs, nd wouldnt pay someone as its only small, thanks for your help. Aswell my dad just told me he bought touch up for his mazda and that he will do it for me so might aswell let him lol

thinking about it mate, ive got a spare bootlid that the delivery fucktards dented up, im pretty sure that bit is fine on it though, if your paint code is the ezcr (the silver one with the z in... not eycc) then i wouldnt mind taking it off and selling you it... ill have to find out what the postage is on it before saying a price, but no more than a tenner all in
