Cat Scan & MRI Scan
After anybody's experience, especially those working/know people who work for the NHS...
Basically if somebody has a CAT scan (to assess the brain) at the hospital and the doctors immediately book you in to have an MRI scan several days later.
Is this usually precautionary or to further examine complications?
The doctor initially thought the complication was Meningitis (sp) to a certain part of the brain (I can't remember the technical term) however they have ruled this out and since been very vague and obstructive...
Just not sure if it is a reason to prepare for the worse or if it's standard procedure?
The doctor has just literally given no clue to what is happening.

Standard procedure, don't freak out just yet... Going further does not mean you're sick, it's more often than not to rule out the worst.

Cat scan looks at the brain and takes pictures 3d images its amazing and very clever stuff. A cat scan gives out alot of radiation for example a normal x-ray gives out 1.5 dose of radiation and a cat scan is nearer 1000 dose. I don't know the correct term my girlfriend is a radiographer so i could ask her later. But i suspect they do not want to use the cat scan again because of the huge radiation dosage.

probably ruling things out, i have severe migraines, and one month i had loads, so they sent me for a cat scan then another sort of scan, maybe the MRI. i thought i had brain tumour or something, but they were just ruling things out.

Both times I've had cat scans I also had MRI's too. I'm fine although others may disagree.
