I've got 3 coats of Collinite 476 on my 106 at the moment and it's absolutely awesome stuff - really easy to apply, buff off (only do a couple of panels at a tim otherwise it sticks like shit to an army blanket) and beads up beautifully.
For the price, there's nothing better IMO
Agreed about Dodo though - I never got on with it and can't really see what all the hype is about

I didnt think much of dodo at first, but the half i had buffed was in the shade done the other half and it was gleaming, you can pull into my street on a night and spot my car a mile off cos of the shine
yeah he said only do a few at a time, said he never read it put it all over and then spend hours getting it off haha

Oh don't get me wrong - Dodo isn't a bad product, it's just for the price (and it is overpriced IMO) you can get better in my eyes.
I made the mistake the first time I used it of going all round the car and then buffing off - never again lol
Erm tbh I didn't realise they did an XL version mate - I've only got the normal one lol. Three coats is more than enough every 6 months though IMO (summer protection detail and then again over winter is my rule of thumb) so that extra may go to waste if you haven't got any other cars tbh.
Shitty pic on my HTC, but here's mine a day or so after I got the third layer of 476 on :

i get beading like that using turtlewax nanotech wash and wax(ignore the stated dose, i use it 3 times stronger) and autoglym super resin.
gf used to use colinite, seemed pretty good, although for the results from the amount of effort, (and being a lazy cleaner) the above is the most i do. lol

Ahh right cool - tbh it's not a good pic and when it's pissing it down the beading gets alot tighter and uniform - I'm happy with it anywho

Heh I do too mate - I do build it up over a few washes though and top up if needs be. How many layers do you put on mate? There was a detailer on Detailing World that put about 50 layers of sealant on his Astra VXR Nurburgring IIRC haha

yeah i seen that haha, thats too much, i dont go over the top, but if i spend all day doing it, it gets a coat, and then the next day it gets one too, each time i wash it i will try and wax it, and if i havent used it all week, when i get back from work, probs do it again and go around doing bits. Always try keep it immaculate, once got pulled over, went a bit fast around the round about, but sat and chatted about cars, said he had seen my car before and always thought how clean it looked, let me off. Pays to look after your car, po po notice a well looked after car for the right reasons

although i always go outside with these intensions, i get bored, even on my runaround i have gone through the effort of cleaning in the fuel cap, door shuts and under the bonnet etc, but when it comes to polishing, i completely run out of enthusiasm, i think if i had a large, warm garage to do it in i i'd probally do it though

Heh yeah I did think 50 was a tad excessive lol.
Yeah I keep mine looking tip top simply because I don't like driving a dirty car - this time of year is a complete PITA
Haha you might have a point there mate - I used to run French plates and when I got pulled I was mid way through my exams and it was the week after FCS so the drive back had got the car completely filthy - a mixture of general 'cruising' speeds during the summer and fly splatters made the car look disgusting.
One Po po was looking round the car like "Yeah I can see it's your pride and joy" so there's me thinking 'Sweet - I'm getting out of this one!' Unfortunately the other Po po was writing out my £60 fine haha. Probably the only time she's been that dirty though lol.

my garage isnt massive, but i can walk around the car, have cd player in there, stick heater in and im away, how can you go to the effort of fuel cap door shuts under bonnet but not be arsed to polish and wax? takes 10 mins to put on, leave it for a bit play a game of fifa and then go back!

Ahh yeah mine's on a slope as well - both mine and my Dad's cars are crying out for a clean but don't particularly turn my drive into an ice rink haha

its good stuff, I wax the car about every 3 months in the stuff. I'm not sure if its the "shiniest" finish, but it beads for ages, so if its protection your after I can't really get much better for the price.

Zymol or zanio for wax, expensive but the results are amazing. I'm currently using auto finesse as well that is a nightmare getting off however very durable
