Question Painting grill?

Hi all,

May sound like a silly question but if I buy this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AEROSOL-SP...item4ab7506728

will I be able to spray this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Sa...item33756ab7c5 (it doesn't come red)

Or do I need something else like a primer?

yes you need to prep it before painting. Im no bodyshop expert, but You need to give it a light sanding to key up the surface. Then a couple coats of primer, a couple coats of paint and a couple coats of clear laquer.

dont spray on too thick or itll run. do it evenly so to not get patches

Thanks for the reply, I have a sand blaster at work, would this be better for keying up the surface? I used this with the chevrons on my current grill.

Not really worth using a sandblaster tbh, especially not on plastic parts, just a good key up with sandpaper, coat or two of plastic primer (as it will flex with heat and will crack a normal primer) then couple of coats of colour, flat with 1200 grit paper if need be if theres any runs or imperfections e.g bit of dust of a fly landing on your paint grrr! then finally couple of coats of laquer, then chuck it indoors to dry over night!
