professional advice needed, please help!
Straight to the point, I bought a brand new astra vxr in 09, when the car was 7 months old I had brake failure.
4 error codes on the car, front left abs fault, front right abs fault, yaw rate sensor out of range and main command signal for abs fault too.
Vauxhall ignored the car and didn't check it over out anything, legal action for almost 5 years, Ben inspected etc. They said the faults were caused by broken abs cable when I crashed. Cables fully intact.
Been told by someone that some of the abs valves could have stuck open but isn't willing to help us out because he does work for Vauxhall.
Anybody got any knowledge or know anybody with knowledge to help out with a report or something.
Obviously not a freebie, any help at all please, this is ruining my life!

The braking fault caused the accident. If I had done it myself it would have been fixed within a week or two!

Hmm, kind of see where Vauxfail are coming from.. They can argue that you had a crash, that damaged the brakes, and that's why the faults came up..
Your word against theirs really.. Not trying to be harsh, but i can't see anyone writing a report for you, for an accident that happened 4 years ago.. It would be almost impossible now to prove that something hasn't gone wrong while the car has rather been sitting, or from general use since it was fixed (if it was)..
Your only way really, is to prove that it's a common fault, but i still can't see anyone forcing them to pay out, because you could just use that as an excuse of your own driving failure.. Again not having a pop at you..

They took the codes off the car a few days after the accident and have me a run around for months, saying the codes were caused by damaged abs cable in the accident bla bla. Been inspected and abs cables are fine so removed their excuse.
I'm an advanced motorist, ex army defence staff car driver actually so I'm iam test exempt. The car is still sat damaged.
I've read one place of this happening to someone else but his insurance want interested in investigating the fault.
I was based in Germany, just leaving after the issue happened so had to de register the car from Germany ending insurance policy too. Thought it would be warranty job. And months and months later they were taking the piss so to late for insurance then!

if it was in 2009/10, it's more than months and months.. That's what i mean.. It has been a long time! Should have threatened with court and stuff once they tried getting rid of you.. Hard to prove something so late after the accident

It is a total bitch, just trying to give advice on what i can, i know the longer you leave it, the harder it is to prove.. All you can really do, is a lot of research yourself, and see what you can find with this been a common fault, and then trying to take that to them, and pair it up with the symptoms been the same as your car had suffered on diagnostics after the crash

Aye pal, thank you for your help! This thread is me trying to find good info from somebody in the know. A guy for snap on said it sounded like an abs valve sticking open but won't help due to loss of work, just want someone who's willing to help!
