Ed's 1.1 16v- Dead in a cloud of smoke.
Well, Better late than never.
Bought this as a project to keep me occupied until I go back to College.
Got it off a Friend who...Crashed it, Yes. Resulting in Damage to the Front end.
My main aim is to get it roadworthy again and then in sometime, Maybe make it a VT rep..or may just keep it Ratty.
First thing to do is get the Slam panel, Ns wing and Bonnet etc on.
Then paint those in Matt black/chalboard paint.
Depending how those come out, I'll do the rest of the car the same.

I no this Wing is fixed on properly yet, Just sizing it all up to see whats what.

Slam Panel loosely fitted

Bonnet-Partially prepped.

Paint..

The halfwits sent me this one opened...The joys I had when I opened the box.
Could someone help me though...Im stuck on what the wire/brown clip is for..Everything else is there and Connected..im stuck on this though
Also, whats this? it was in a box of bolts and bits and i've no idea...
Thanks, Thats all for today anyway.. Must get to work!
Ed.

Good luck on the blackboard! How are you applying it? You've pretty much got it at the stage I had after my crash! If you need any help with the blackboard, PM me - I've just done it!
As for the last pictures, Have I not seen something like that on the back of the standard lights?

Thanks, Deffinatly gonna need it!
Erm, Was just gonna go with Rolling it on..but not 100% sure on what Prepping I should do.. Like with Primer. Not sure whether to prime it or not, as Ive never used Tinned paint before. But Im assuming I should use primer.
Cheers for that last bit of info, Im gonna go for a Root around in a minute and see if I can shed any light on what its for.
Thanks.

It might not be the light! Just remember seeing something that looked like it.
I primed the car just with normal matt paint from a spray tin, and then rollered the paint on. Remember. THIN coats! Otherwise it goes horrible.
So very thin coats, and just keep rolling and it will come out nice, fill in the small details with a small paintbrush, then rub down any imperfections and re-reroller the car with a final coat. Walah!
Its all about the VT Rep, I do love mine

Ahh, glad we worked out the mystery contraption!
I thought try were the motor adjustors for the lights? Maybe they had different models of the adjustors...
I'll be interested to see how this turns out! I'm only a pm away if you need a hand.

Paid £80 for it So far I've spent about £100 on parts and Paint etc.
So not to bad tbh. Plus It had 2 New Kumho's on the front a couple of days before you Crashed it and a Few other things. Pretty chuffed with it.
Cheers for that link mate, Will have to investigate further into what it is and whats not working etc.

its for the power steering/blowers/rear demister, you have to link the two red wires together if these three stop working

Right, Well got a Bit more done today.
Got the Bonnet on, Wing and Slam panel on Correctly and Re-routed the Wiring for the Headlights etc on that side. Will get Pics up in the morning.
Im having a Slight problem though with the Wipers- they're not Working at all, Nor are the Washer jets etc. Is there a relay that should be there for them. I've tried searching for a Diagram for them but can't seem to find anything. If anyone can help
Other than that, its coming along Pretty sweet.

Right, Its been a while.
Bit of an Update- Pics will be up tomorrow or saturday as my Bro has had my camera for a couple of weeks.
All the Body work is on and Roughly lined up, Both front wings and the bonnet are painted in Chalkboard paint. And everythings wired up and working, bar the Wipers. Which im still baffled on. :/
Anyway, Waiting on a set of new pads, then going to order Discs when i Get paid tomorrow
But, Ive seen a couple of sets for the same price basically But they're both different sizes, according to the Spec.
One pair are - 238mm
the other are - 247mm
I've no idea which to get, would anyone care to enlighten me? They're for the 3 stud Hub aswell if that helps. Obviously I want bigger brakes, but will the 247mm ones fit without changing the Calipers and pads etc.
Or is the 247mm listing wrong?
Cheers, Ed.
