Why not mate? Welding isn't that expensive if you know someone who'll do it outside of the garage.
I'd prefer for something to be a welding issue as it means it's not the part that will need replacing all the time, just a simple matter of bunging fifty notes to a guy down the road who is a welder by day, but does side jobs by night
