Sorry to bring this back from the dead but this seems like the best thread on the subject.

Having exactly the same prob. Get a series of clunking noises when steering, and not just on full lock. Happens on any degree of rotation; faster I steer the more frequent the clunk.

But as with SAM33R, it does sometimes make a clunk when pulling away from stand still and this sounds very similar to the knocking noise when the droplinks fail ( I've had 4 replaced since ive had the car ) but in this case I dont think its the drop links that are the problem.

Really hope its something simple and not that welding issue
