Cheers guys, yeh the moment it happened is constantly going through my head.
Heres the problem: Because I broke my wrist which is a serious injury, the law states I have to go to court or at least plead guilty by post for careless driving. The minimum points for careless driving is 6.
6 points within two years of passing = test retake!
The police said that as long as the couple in the other car dont have serious injuries then they would argue that I dont deserve to have to retake my test but obviously they cant pomise anything.
The best case scenario is that I go on one of those driving improvement schemes. Worst case is 6 points, a large fine and therefore cant see myself affording a car and insurance within at least a year.

Cheers, there was no point trying to lie, the police would of figured out how the crash happened anyway. I put myself in a better position by admitting to driving without due care and attention to the first police officer to talk to me.

fuck dude! i know exactly how you feel as i crashed my mk4 astra sxi earlier on this year, wasn't the best car in the world but was pretty nice as i'd done quite a fair few mods to it and it was looking sweet, the alloy wheel gave way at 70 when i changed lane on the dual carriage way and i was wondering what the fuck was going on! Showed my college tutor a picture of the wheel and he said that it must have been a crack on it that was waiting to give, well needless to say it did exactly that, three 360 spins and four bollards ripped out the floor on the central reservation, 3 wheels left on and no front bumper later i ended up going backwards straight over the otherside of the dually, and down a ditch into a tree. The car tipped up twice, first time tipped sideways when the forces and speed caused the wheel that had already given way to be ripped clean off the back, with the stub axel and whole brake drum! fucking destroyed my car and shattered my confidence. Were the original wheels so no suprise it was cracked as the car was a '99.. The police saw the scene and just told me that as it was a single vehicle RTC that i would just have to scrap the car, sell bits off it and move on! I was so lucky tbh, for many reasons and by the sounds of it so were you. Just keep your chin up man, it'll be fine in the end, just be happy that your still here.
Lots of respect for you for admitting liability, and fingers crossed you'll get away with no points
Was a lovely car mate, but it's only metal at the end of the day, you'll have another one soon!!

Thanks guys, yeah I'm happy that all I've got is a broken wrist and that the couple I crashed into arent seriously injured, could of been alot worse!
Cant help being so annoyed with myself though, poured a fair bit of cash into it, and endless hours of tinkering and cleaning!

Got some pictures of how it looks now.
I'm probably going to need to cut up the front passenger arch to get the wheel off and get to the coilovers, as you can see, its doubtful that the passenger side survived.
My drivers seat has collapsed one side, the whole dash has moved a couple inches backwards and the glovebox is now almost vertical when you reach into it. There is a dip all the way around the sunroof where the whole car has twisted slightly.
The wheel that took the impact is also kaput.
I'll be stripping the car for anything that is worth anything next week, then once I've decided whether or not I'll be eventually getting another saxo, I'll put a forsale thread up with remaining parts.

I know, passenger side took most the impact!
I'm good, wrist should be out of plaster within 6 weeks. Going to ring the other driver tomorrow to ask how his Wife is, should be the most awkwards phone call of my life.

Cheers man. I think either way, points or not, Im not going to rush into getting back on the road and buy an absolute heap. I'd rather wait a year (or more) and buy something tidy.
But yeh, words cant describe how gutted I am and angry at myself.
