the only real mess was that initial plenum I took a punt on, could be an expensive window planter!!
Priced up all the parts I need from Citroen for the engine rebuild and it's a shade over £300 for headgasket, all engine bearings etc.

Fingers crossed all the new parts come tomorrow, and the Predator comes back from having an onboard MAP sensor fitted!
Should be an exciting day, then I need to go out and check my rev limiter as been having a play with a few things.

lol, 2nd gear + slip road for safely testing the rev limiter - I just need it to be actually what I set it on the ECU.
At the moment I can set any rev limiter on the ECU and it works upto 7k, ie if i put a 6k rev limit on the Ecu, the limiter is at 6k.
But if I put a 7500 rev limit, then the rev limit hits a 7k ceiling - just just getting to the bottom of this tbh, had a few electrical probs with the CPS (soldering wires/wrong cps etc. so just trying a few bits out with the help of Andy.
I need a 7500 for the Rotrex, as planning at 7500 the rotrex will just be under it's max rpm for warranty purposes but when the warranty is over, can overspin it past the warranty rpm

the 'ceiling' was 6k before (cps wiring had like 3 soldered joins in it before) - I removed and re-wired the whole CPS wiring and it's now 7k.
I have to say the car goes mental now, 6k to 7k is ballistic tbh

No, this will be mapped on the rollers, I think I might get it run in on the rollers too tbh to make sure the rings bed in nicely.
Just drop it off somewhere, get them to run it in - maybe put a base map on it - I'll do 500 miles or something and then drop it back to them to map fully.
I just think with a boost setup, the ignition map is pretty cruicial, inlet temps etc. plus the £££ invested I think I'd rather go with a dyno map. The road map for the TB's is spot on, but it's got standard pistons and not running anything too dangerous for the engine like a bucket load of boost
What you doing with yours?
I've bought a load of car books recently just trying to read up on things, they are cracking reads tbh, just been getting my head around "the scientific design on intake and exhaust systems", old school but interesting nevertheless - just wish I hadn't bought that stupid turbo plenum as it's looking like I'll lose money on it o well, live and learn.
Electrical wise I'd be tempted to give one of these a try:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Diagnose-Aut...ref=pd_sim_b_2
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Haynes-Car-E...ref=pd_sim_b_1
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Automotive-E...ref=pd_sim_b_1
Not sure about them as I've not read any of them but look okay !

Sounds like a good idea your plan. With mine its simply going to be get the engine to start and drive about a bit (so i know basically everything is ok to an extent) Then trailer it to northants and leave it to them. Cant really do much running it with it not being road legal, so its first outing will be on track
I might pick up the electrical systems manual tomorrow! Looks quite relevant and im sure a good reference point... Cheers for the links, Top man!
Was the plenum dear? Take it that its the type you make your own inlet/baseplate for it, To go over throttle bodies etc?

Wasn't too bad, only just 3 figures. Yeh, ideally would get the trumpets welded to a baseplate and then the baseplate welded to the bottom of the plenum ready for boost. This plenum was a bit too big so would have hit the Brake Servo Chamber - I shouldv'e taken into account the intake pipe when checking the measurements in my engine bay
Yeh, I think it gets to the point where the engine has quite a bit of £££ invested in it so really worth getting it run in and mapped up 100%.
I don't know where to take this at the mo for mapping, but sorta like ATSpeed having seen the cars they are mapping/building - who knows as it's a long time away !
