not sure, it runs ok really, just that the smoke comes from the exhaust and leaking from the turbo housing. totally buggered as for the past few days has not been holding any boost at all. not bothered if the engine blows - got a low mileage backup engine for £200

bought the t25 from a rover breaker - found it on partsgateway as i couldnt find any t2 turbos anywhere. comes with 60 days guarantee so hopefully it is a good one.
i can imagine bud that it boost good, my turbo i think was pretty much nakered from day one. i could never change it either as it was welded onto my manifold. will have to try something else with the manifold now

Love it when something goes wrong with this car cause you end up buying
something bigger and better for it
Bad news man with the engine issues/turbo issues. I think reliablity and power
are something that dont like to exist at the same time. Dont give up on her just
yet matey.

lol, im not too happy as i have to walk everywhere.lol. it will be back - bigger and better and im defo getting it mapped up as soon as the new turbo is in
the car has been pretty reliable its just that i messed up when fitting the turbo kit in the first place as i didnt know anything then - so ive just been correcting my mistakes. the only thing that was dodgy was the turbo - wish i bought a new one

havent decided fully yet on whether to spray the intercooler black or leave- will have to see what it will look like when i put the stuff back on
also picked my gti-6 calipers - they are mahoosive and the pads are pretty new on them too so may not need new pads.
will post some pics up 2mos when the stuff is fitted, meanwhile heres the pics i promised:

cheers mate, well i was supposed to get my turbo yesterday but the dopey gits still havent sent it off - i think they are testing it first. i ideally needed it yesterday so i could order the turbo flange and start making a new manifold but it will have to wait

take your time sorting the manifold adapter and stuff, good thing now is you can get the turbo sitting straight and have the oil inlet and return were you want.
If you do it right you may just miss the oil filter, but if you need an oil filter relocation kit let me know because my down pipe doesnt go anywere near my filter so selling mine off

cheers, my existing setup was ok as the turbo sat very flat, the oil inlet is ok as well as the oil return.
the manifold however did not clear the oil filter so i had to buy a remote oil filter kit in the first place. cheers for the offer though
where do you reckon i can get a mild steel turbo flange from?

30 sep - the turbo`s back on the road
it was all a false alarm, my mate the mechanic came to check my car for me and to check the turbo. it seemed that the oil return for the turbo was blocked and therefore the oil in the turbo went straight throught the exhaust system.
all sorted now, sorted the fuelling out a little and it performs a hell of a allot better. ordered the new turbo aswell so may just sell it now - unless im hungry for more power
cheers for all the comments and advice tho people
will post pics up when the brakes and gauges are fitted
