Problem is that i didnt order them and so have no receipt to hand etc. No doubt thatll be even more ball ache to send the damn things back and take forever to receive the correct ones.

These alloys did arrive in just over a week but could take ages as my 16s from the same company took 10 weeks.

TBH im sick of it already, lots i could be doing on the car but have no motivation to bother with it at the moment.

Also have no way of getting it to the place to fix the oil leak.

when you got the rocker covers skimmed i take it they removed all the lugs sticking out (circled on pic) and then a small amount of the surface itself?

Did you then just use a small amount of sealant?

Yep thats right, the lugs were removed completely and as we found out that the back cover had bowed up slightly at the ends through whatever stresses and strains its had throughout its life it was skimmed completely flat.

A very small amount of sealent was needed then, i literally only used half a tube for both covers whereas it had taken 3 tubes previously to fill the gap left by the lugs- which didnt seal it first time.

So far no worthy update.

Truck didnt come on Friday as it wasnt road worthy itself- bah!

So getting up early in the morning, dad is off work so were going to tow it there ourselves slowly during a quiet time of the day. Not sure which will be the best place to tow it from being as theres no towing eyes still, but we'll find somewhere secure.

Finally ordered the spacers which i need for the new wheels aswel, with a bit of luck they wont take too long to arrive (i hope)

cheers for the help. How much did it cost? I had my head skimmed at a mini tuning specialist on the same industrial estate i work, so will see if they will do them on the same machine they used to do my head. Hopefully for cheaper than a head tho, cost £40 to get the head done so im hoping for £25-30.

Hope you get yours car sorted soon.

When i fitted toyo tires to my car in exactly the same size as i previously had in continental contisports i found they rubbed the cover over the ARB and a linkage at the front! Puzzled me for awhile but looking at the tyres, Toyo decided to put a lip on T1-S's and T1-R's to save wheels from curbing! Theese lips stick out around 3-4mm at the bottom so are around 5mm prowd at the edge of the rim! Making the sidewall slightly wider on the whole to a different manufacturer! Althought the actually size of the tread pattern stays the same in my case 195! Annoyed me for months but nothing 3mm spacers didnt sort!

It cost me £10 to get mine done, it literally took them 2 minutes per side and then they blew out any filings with a blower attachment on the compressor and put them in the washer.

Theyre exactly the same make of wheel and the tyres are exactly the same toyo's that i had before, only difference is i now have 195/45/15s instead of 195/40/16s so in theory i shouldnt have any rubbing, loads of room before and not so much as a hint of rubbing

The spacers which ive ordered are H&R 10mm hubcentric ones.

They need longer bolts, but the bolts that match the alloys have a smaller thread length than standard wheel bolts so theres no difference or worry in having these longer ones

Smallest hubcentric ones which ive found anywhere. The flat ones are no good as they potentially give bad wheel wobble which could only be worse when im on the track

Got myself into gear in the end

Towed the car to the place to get the head gasket leak sorted, hopefully theyll be able to sort it for me ok.

Had to wrap the tow rope around the wishbones to tow it without towing eyes.

Scary experience as batterys flat so no brake lights or indicators, and without any power braking is bloody hard work- felt like i was back on standard 1.0 brakes.

Alarm was a nightmare aswel, with barrty flat it decides that it wants to squark and go off randomly, not stopping by the fob and eventually stopping when it feels like it
