Have you timed up the cams? If so then will they mess up the timing when they have the head back off ??

Haha, yep we've all been there.

Alarms get dead twitchy on a low battery, every little sound and bump they start screaming about! THEIF, THEIF, STOLEN, HELP ME, ALARME, HELP.

Sucks even more when it goes off in your garage with the doors shut

They did the cam timing for me previously.

It was booked in with them to:

Fit head and bottom end together using new head gasket.

Seal the sump to the bottom end

Fit the new cambelt kit and do all the timing.

Basically major bits that its just not worth doing yourself unless you have a very good level of mechanical knowledge about engines- which i dont lol

So after paying the money id kind of hoped it would have been right first time.

Still, at least theyve accepted responsibility. Cars not coming home until its sorted nevertheless

I agree, if you pay an 'expert' to do something, and they have done it, but with a problem, then they should fix it. Sounds like a good place if they've accepted it's their problem, and are appy to sort it !!

Just hope it' ready soon !! Will be good to see the results of all your time and money !!

They accepted that its an error on their part without any question, and to be fair to them i didnt think they would have made a fuss anyway.

The place was recommended by several local businesses who use them for work, so it was a firm recommendation from them rather than just a customers one.

Got txt off Matt before saying the head gasket had gone! The one he had fitted had been discontinued by citroen due them constant breaking and causes leaks!

Not good and Matt says he has got to wait bout 2 weeks to get uprated one fitted at a citroen specialist!

Sure he will shine more light on the subject!

A little update as an addition to that already mentioned.

Yep the head gasket is knackered, but even if it was a 'discontinued' or non recommended type from citroen i would still only expect a weap from that corner with it being a new gasket rather than a 'piss' tbh.

They say that as its the gasket that is at fault they are not liable to sort the problem out.

The Pug/Cit specialist which i normally use are fully booked up until 17th March, but they have recommended another place which does work for them which could book it in sooner and would cost just under £200 approx to supply the new gasket and get everything fitted back together.

There could still be a chance that the gasket was damaged whilst fitting or indeed was just one of those unlucky ones which was faulty upon being packaged and supplied within the head gasket kit.

So..

The pug/cit specialist (i know them quite well and would trust them with anything with my car) have said they strongly suggest that if this other place does the gasket change for me then i ask them to keep the old gasket in the exact condition that it comes off the car and take it to them after to check and see if it is a manufacturers fault or a fitting fault thats caused it.

Then i could either:

Claim back again off the company that fitted the original gasket
or
Josh do you have a receipt or anything from the place you ordered the gasket kit from/do they offer any warranty if its a faulty gasket?

Either way this bloody conversion had better be worth the hassle when its finished

I hope so, its about time i actually enjoyed driving it rather than messing about with it for 1 reason or another.

Mine was proper peeing out, there was nothing for a minute or so whilst temp and pressure builds up but then its like turning a tap on, pretty sure if id have driven it id have lost all my oil before getting home.
