which way round do these wires go?
took a sensor apart to heatshrink the wires. trouble is, i didn't take note of which way round they were!
so could someone please tell me which way round the green and white wires go? (might be wrong in pic)
it's a green sensor to the bottom right of the cam cover on my 03 vtr so should be a common one! pics would be really helpful
the pins are numbered 1 and 2 if that helps
cheers, chris

right i've had a good search through loads of engine bay pics and all the sensors look different! different shapes, some are blue etc. starting to think it won't just be a simple case of copying wires...
am i right in thinking this is the coolant temp sensor/sender?
might just let the engine run for a short while and see does the temp gauge start to rise. then if not just switch the wires and see does that work
cheers, chris

bit of an odd one
seems to work with the wires either way, but not with the sensor unplugged
any ideas?

yes you are correct that it is the engine temp sensor it won't work when upplugged as the ECU notices a break in the circuit - and the fan should then kick in as a precaution.
IIRC green is pin 2 - however thats on mine (1.1 with blue plug )
